Fellowship

Grandfathering Policy for current SCCANZ Fellows

All doctors who hold current Fellowship status with SCCANZ at 30 June 2012 shall be granted Fellowship status in the Skin Cancer College Australasia effective from 1 July 2012.

All grandfathered Fellows will have equivalent status and will have equal access to any and all benefits attached to the rank of Fellow as determined by the Board of the Skin Cancer College Australasia.

All grandfathered Fellows will be obliged to comply with any requirements for continuing professional development which may be introduced by the Skin Cancer College Australasia following endorsement by majority member vote at a general meeting.

Fellowship Pathway

From July 2012 the Skin Cancer College Australasia will provide a pathway for doctors to enter the discipline of skin cancer medicine and work towards achievement of Fellowship of the College. This will provide a clear career plan for these doctors and provide a much needed professional health service to our community.

Patients will have a clear understanding that when they consult a Fellow of the Skin Cancer College Australasia they are being treated by a doctor who has undertaken post-graduate training, passed exams and participates in ongoing education in the field of primary skin cancer medicine.

In addition, medical colleagues and the general public can be confident that patients who consult a doctor who has achieved Fellowship of the College shall receive care commensurate with best clinical practice principles.
